Samoli's jewelry art began with the concept of upcycling. Making use of perceivedly worthless, precious or semi-precious, but always significant objects, Mary Samoli creates wreaths made of “forgotten” objects. Collections such as "The Sea" became a color palette for Samoli using glass as a canvas, on which she sculpted with sand and clay, borrowed wood and ironware from wrecks, and pebbles from summer wanderings.
